The Capital Cichlid Association Visit April 2004

Atlanta Trip 2003
I was asked to speak at the Atlanta Area Aquarium Association in Georgia in September 2003. The trip turned out to be a great adventure for me. The hospitality of the members was outstanding. I spent three days there, being treated to visits to fishrooms, shops and the University of Georgia. I huge thank you goes out to Ken Davis, Ron Reisinger, Mark Powell and all the members of the Atlanta Area Aquarium Association that made the trip an enjoyable experience for me.
More information on their club at: ( http://www.atlantaaquarium.com/index.htm )
The following photos are from that excellent trip!

Ron Reisinger stands next to his large saltwater set-up. Ron maintains a little bit of everything, including a beautiful planted aquarium in his computer room. Ron, his wife and two daughters welcomed me into their home to spend night two of my adventure. Ron also spent an entire day taking me to shops and his fellow hobbyist fishrooms. Thanks again Ron!

Ken Davis.jpg (44533 bytes) Ken Davis standing between rows of aquariums in his HUGE fishroom....or I should say fishhouse. He has a building behind his home for all of his tanks, I'd guess over 2,500 ft. of space and too many tanks to count!  I spent my first night at Ken's place and went to his workplace, University of Georgia, the following day.
Meetingplace2.jpg (35234 bytes) More of the club's members. Talking fish, of course!
DavidRamsey.jpg (39817 bytes) More of the crowd that attended.  In the front center is David Ramsey. I had met Dave a few years ago at a Killifish event in Ohio...it was good to see him again. Dave is heavy into Killies, Catfish and planted tanks.  Check out his site if you get a chance: http://www.djramsey.com/
DavidRamsey.jpg (45957 bytes) A good crowd turned out for their monthly meeting. I hope my talk on Cory cats didn't put anyone to sleep!
AlanOpdyke.jpg (64623 bytes) Alan Opdyke invited me in to see his fishroom.  Here Alan is along side a row of his tanks... notice a few of his awards on the wall from his top of the line, show guppies! Talk about a clean and organized fishroom, this is a model one for sure. You can find out more information about Alan and his guppies at: http://www.fancyguppy.com/
Alan'sroom.jpg (56838 bytes) Another shot of Alan Opdyke's fishroom.  See what I mean about clean and organized! Obvious to see how much effort he puts into his work, not only with his fish.
