||Marshall E. Ostrow
was in for a visit in Oct.2003. We were fortunate
enough to have Marshall sit in a PAKA (Pittsburgh Area Killifish
Association) meeting while he was in town. Seeing that he
is the author of "Breeding Killifishes", a
1981 book published by T.F.H., it was a honor to have him

shown here holding several issues of the GPASI Journal (Greater
Pittsburgh Aquarium Society Inc, from 1973) at which time he
was Vice President of the club! Marshall, a former
editor of Tropical Fish Hobbyist magazine for many years, has
become the new editor of JAKA, the publication for the
American Killifish Association. (photo Oct. 2003)
Breitkreutz (CA), long time hobbyist and well known to many, stopped
by for a visit Aug. 2003. Chris also joined the Pittsburgh
Area Killifish Association for our monthly meeting....nice to
have him attend for some "outside" input in the
Judi (Palmer) Tracy stopped by for a visit with two of her kids,
Tyler and Braelyn.

||October 2002. (L-R) Robert J. Goldstein,
Boggs, Ph.D.(PA) and myself. While
Bob was in town for several days, Sallie brought him by for a
visit. Some of the very first aquarium books I had when I
was young were written by Bob. It was a great honor to have
him actually standing in my facility!
||Lee Finley (RI) was in
Pittsburgh for the 50th Anniversary Show in 1997. I was lucky
enough to spend some time showing Lee around town. Lee is know
for his collection of vintage aquarium literature &
extensive knowledge on Catfish.
Lucanus (Canada) owner of "Below Water", collector,
explorer, importer/exporter, author... the list goes on
and on, presented an underwater film that he made while
collecting in S. America for a GPASI monthly meeting in
August 2002. I was fortunate to have him stop by for several
hours for a visit. Oliver is one of the most knowledgeable
people when it comes to new & rare fish. His knowledge
is endless! If you ever get a chance to see one of his
presentations, don't hesitate, you'll be amazed with him!
||Stephan Tanner and
his wife Wendy from Ohio State University stopped in for a
visit in Sept. 2002.
Members of PAKA (Pittsburgh Area
Killifish Association) got a chance to meet & visit with
Frederich Bitter (from Germany) at the Cincinnati Killifish
Show during Labor Day weekend 2002.

"Jim & Lynn Golaszeski (New
Jersey) come to town for a few days to "hang out".
Lynn went shopping while Jim got a tour of some Pittsburgh
fishrooms. He's now hooked and setting up a fishroom of his
own....this hobby does grow on you!"
November 2002. A group of members
from the Columbus Area Fish Enthusiasts stopped by. (L-R) Ryan

October 2002, Al Yunker pulls
himself away from his work with his Dwarf Cichlids to lend
a hand in cutting glass lids for some AOA tanks. Al is
spawning some of the best looking Apistos and Pelvicachromis I
have ever seen, he is also the web master for AOA.
(L-R) Stephan Tanner (Ohio), Ingo
Seidel (Germany) and myself. Ingo was one of the guest
speakers at the Ohio Cichlid Extravaganza in November 2002. I
was lucky enough to have Stephan, who is an old friend of Ingo's
from Germany, bring Ingo to my facility the day after the OCA
Ingo Seidel (Germany) - Ingo
and I did some fish trades during his visit, here he is
bagging fish to take back to Germany with him. I received C. sp.
"Mazaruni" (that he collected from Guyana and
spawned), tank-raised C. solox, Aspidoras eurycephalus and
an unidentified Aspidoras species. The upper left-hand
corner of the photo shows the Mergus Catfish Atlas Vol. 1 that
Ingo co-authored. The book features Hypoptopomatinae and
Loricariinae catfish. (only available in German at this time).
